Biodiversity

Biodiversity is many different types of species and organisms that make up an ecosystem.

“By definition, biodiversity is ‘the variability among living organisms from all sources, including inter alia, terrestrial, marine and other aquatic ecosystems and the ecological complexes of which they are part. This includes diversity within species, between species and of ecosystems’” (Haahtela, 2019, p. 1445).

I think biodiversity is important on the local, regional, national and international level in order to maintain healthy ecosystems. Without biodiversity, species can become extinct and humans and the earth can be negatively impacted.
